(comment) This is a postcard by Naoki Uemura from Cambridge, Canada, sent in 1965 to mountaineer Mitsuhiko Yoshino, who along with Tsuneaki Watanabe became the first Japanese to scale the north face of the Matterhorn and is the author of many books on mountaineering. It has been carefully framed by the previous owner. The written content is as follows: "We have completed our summer settlement that lasted about half a year.We are finally leaving for the second half of our journey. At the end of November, we headed west along the coast of the Arctic Ocean with 12 dogs, hunting seals and reindeer along the way. We will do our best to reach the Bering Strait around March next spring. The polar regions are -30 degrees Celsius, stars and aurora, and the sea water is frozen.11/20 Uemura in Cambridge Bay (Kubota)
