(comment) When it aired in 1964, black and white televisions were still the monotone in living rooms. In that context, the only way that young fans could see "Fujimaru in color" was through the animation cels created for this flexi-disc. The animation was done by the master, Daikichiro Kusube, who would later found Shin-Ei Animation. Furthermore, this work is known as a "source" of Japanese animation history, as it is where a young Hayao Miyazaki honed his talent as a key Douga and in-between monotone. Because it was broadcast in black and white, the "colors" specially drawn for this cel are a concentrated expression of the passion of the staff at the time.
