(comment) An illustration signed with the date September 1983. Judging from the peach and moon motifs, it is likely related to "Lum-chan's Japanese Folktales," which aired in January 1984. At this time, Urusei Yatsura was at the height of its popularity, which continued into "Beautiful Dreamer" the following year. It was also a period when Akemi Takada , who was in charge of character design and major Hanken Illustration , was drawing many illustrations for anime magazines and merchandise. The following spring, Akemi Takada 's illustration was so popular that it was used in the new opening theme song for the anime, " Pajama , Jamada!", and even now, 40 years later, this is still the impression that comes to mind when people think of the Anime Version of Lum-chan. In parallel with the evolving style of Rumiko Takahashi's Original Work, Akemi Takada's character designs became increasingly pop-art in style from the start of the broadcast. It's deeply moving to think that this led to her 10-year career of iconic anime such as Creamy Mami Mami, Maison Ikkoku, Orange Road, and Patlabor. The illustrations were drawn on Italian Fabriano watercolor paper containing 50% water color.
