(comment) Both the original drawings and the Corrected Genga feature Sheeta, and while this commentary might seem to simply focus on her adorable Sheeta, it cannot end there. The original drawings by Makiko Niki showcase her observational skills, ability to reproduce details, and overall sense of style, demonstrating her exceptional talent as an animator. The frame is filled with Sheeta playing with a flock of pigeons pecking at food. The countless pigeons each have a clearly defined role, and what appears to be a complex original drawing is actually composed of only up to Sheeta -cell, as can be seen from the time sheet. There is visual consideration given to the pigeon perched on Sheeta's shoulder, and ingenuity is evident in the in-between frames of Sheeta, such as drawing the pigeons' original drawings to create a realistic consistency between Sheeta 's movements and those of the pigeons. It's a battle of placement and timing. The depiction of the pigeons is also amazing, capturing the dynamic muscles of the pigeons as they hover near Sheeta , pecking at the food. Several Reference Genga have been provided for the Douga to pay attention to the pigeons' movements. At the beginning of the drawings, there is a note from Mr. Futaki saying, " Douga, please show me a rough version once," so Mr. Futaki, who put together the composition, must have had a hard time, but the Douga who was in charge of this must have had an even harder time. At the lower part of the Corrected Genga C-6, there is a note from Director Miyazaki regarding the drawing of Sheeta, who is appearing and disappearing amidst the fierce attack of the pigeons, written in a concise way that animators will understand: "Create four consecutive frames of Sheeta's closed eyes, and then open them in one frame in the Douga." It is truly a contents packed with content. The technique is completely free of digital assistance. These days, people might say, "Well, it's Ghibli," or "Well, they're Ghibli animators," but this is an animator who has inherited the blood of the prestigious Telecom Animation Film, and it is a testament to Mr. Futaki's outstanding observational skills and sense for plants and animals. It's also noteworthy that the Corrected Genga are limited to only Sheeta. Amidst the lively flock of doves, the girl seems to be singing of the joy of life in 18 frames over 3 seconds, expressing surprise, delight, and ecstasy.
