(comment) This is the later illustrated box version of "Mobile Suit Gundam," released between 1980, when the anime series ended, and 1983, when Clover went bankrupt. It is believed to have been sold mainly during the Movie Version release period of 1981-82. This is a re-release with the upper box design changed to a more realistic illustration, but the contents remain unchanged. At the time, the Gunpla boom was at its peak, and it is evident that the maker wanted to raise the target age group. "Zambot 3" and "Daitarn 3" were also re-released with changed box art around the same time, but because die-cast toys did not receive much attention in the shadow of Gunpla popularity, it is said that there are few surviving examples of the later illustrated box version (Koshizaki).
